Up-gradation of Child Protection School

Up-graded the Child Protection School for destitute and neglected children residing in Child Protection & Welfare Bureau from Primary to Middle class through School Education Department.
 

Establishment of Child Protection Units

Child Protection & Welfare Bureau, Punjab with the collaboration of UNICEF Pakistan established three Child Protection Units at Bahawalpur, Rajan Pur and Rahim Yar Khan to expand its Child Protection Services to the under privileged districts of South Punjab.
 

Approval of New Schemes in ADP 2014-15

Bureau has expanded its services and ambit to provide bright future, protection and rehabilitation for the destitute and neglected children / needy children of South Punjab (Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan and Sahiwal).
 

Proposel of New Scheme in ADP 2015-16

Further this office proposed for a New Scheme in ADP 2015-16 Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Multan and Faisalabad to expand the services of Bureau.
 

Launch of Anti Beggary Campaign

To eradicate the Child Beggary Lunched an Anti Beggary Campaign with the help of City District Govt. and Traffic Police.
 

Amendment in approved (Appointment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2010 of Child Protection & Welfare Bureau

(Appointment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2010 of Child Protection & Welfare Bureau notified on 18.03.2010 without the promotion strength of employees. Proposed amendment approved in Service Rules 2010 of Child Protection & Welfare Bureau along with, promotion line, nomenclature of posts.
 

Regularize the budget of the Bureau instead of SNE

On request of this office the Finance Department regularized budget for smooth functioning of the Bureau which was on SNE since last eight (8) years.
 

Recruitment of Staff from BS 01 to 10

Bureau was working with 50% staff from last few years. Employees of BS-01 to 10 recruited through NTS.
 

Regularization of contractees BS-16 and above

For efficient working of the Bureau the case of contractees BS-16 and above sent to the Administrative Department / Home Department for regularization as per notification.
 

Capacity Building of Staff

Basic Training has been provided to the Security Guards of the Bureau for security purpose with the help / coordination of Civil Defense Department, Lahore.
 

Shifting of Child Protection Institute, Buildings to enhance the capacity of children

Buildings of Child Protection Institutions Multan, Rawalpindi and Faisalabad shifted to new and appropriate Buildings to enhance the capacity and better environment for the residing destitute and neglected children.
 

Conducted Provincial Conference on Universal Children Day

A Provincial Conference on Universal Children Day was conducted with the Coordination of UNICEF Punjab, Child Rights Movement and highlighted the issue of child rights at mass level. It was first of its kind in Punjab.
 

Coordination with Pakistan Railways

An Open Reception Centre has also been established at Railway Station with Railway Police.
 

Coordination with diffrent departments of other Provinces

Sometimes the children rescued by the CP&WB Punjab belonged to other provinces of Punjab and Bureau faced difficulty for reunification of these children with their families. With the help of Pakistan Railways and Social Welfare Department of Sindh Government 20 children were sent to Karachi for their reunification.
 

Centrelization of Child Help Line 1121

The crrunt admanistration has taken a great step for smooth working of Child Help Line 1121.it has been centrelized now in one single place instead of diffrent districts.now we recieve all calls through out the province under on roof, than it is transferred to specific district office for further necessary action.
 

Coordination with Zakat and Ushar Department

Coordination with Secretary Zakat and Ushar for the allocation of Guzara Allowance and Technical Training from PVTC for the residing children of the Bureau. A ten years MOU has been signed with PVTC.
 

Coordination with Health Department

Health Advisor to Chief Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique visited CP&WB, Punjab to address the health issues and liaison issues with Health Department for providing health services to Children. Polio Vaccination Camp was arranged at CP&WB, Lahore and children were given polio drops and other vaccination also.

Eye Camp was arranged with the Coordination of Eye Department of Mayo Hospital, Lahore.
 

Coordination with UNICEF

Country Head / Representative UNICEF of Pakistan visited CP&WB, Punjab, Lahore to strengthen the scope of child protection in Punjab with the coordination of CP&WB, Punjab.

Endorsement of SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for Child Caring Institutions allover Punjab was done with the collaboration of CP&WB, Punjab & UNICEF for expanding the scope of child protection.

CP&WB, Punjab with the collaboration of UNICEF Pakistan established three Child Protection Units at Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan and Rajan Pur to expand its Child Protection Service to the underprivileged Districts of Punjab.
 

Coordination with NRSP

CEO NRSP (National Rural Support Program) along his team visited CP&WB, Punjab and conducted detailed meeting for empowering of marginalized segment of the society through capacity building, micro financing and many more. PC-I is under deliberation.
 

Legislative Framework

To expand the scope of Child Protection Bureau and to bring more distressed children in the net, final shape has been given to the proposed amendments in Punjab Destitute and Neglected Children (First Amendment) Act, 2007.
 

Coordination with NADRA

First time in the history of Pakistan CPWB coordinated with NADRA and made arrangments for registration of abondond children living in CPWB.Now evrey abondond child living in CPWB has his/her identification as a Pakistani citizen.
