Protection Rights

Besides supporting children to live a normal life, global child protection practices grant children the right to be protected from:

  • Exploitation

  • Cruelty
  • Kidnapping
  • Abduction
  • Unauthorized custody
  • Being employed for begging
  • Being given intoxicating liquor or narcotics drugs
  • Entering places where liquor or narcotic drugs are sold

Every child must enjoy the right to:

  • A family life

  • Have all decisions made in their best interest for their future well-being (i.e., physical, mental, and social)
  • Benefit from an effective system that includes laws, policies, procedures, and practices aimed at preventing and addressing mistreatment, violence, and discrimination that could harm a child’s well-being
